The farm of the farmer Boyan Burchin from Vulchedrum has been using technologies for precision farming for more than 10 years. Since one year the farm manager of Zora Agro owns a Kverneland implement – a Qualidisc Pro 6000 T disc harrow.
When the conditions on the field are not perfect, determination and the right equipment are very important! In a conversation with NIK, Boyan Burchin is telling how the modern equipment and the quality machines help him deal easily with the most difficult operations.
“I am grateful to have such an equipment as the Kverneland Qualidisc disc harrow, which I bought last September from NIK. The disc harrow allows me to perform several treatments at once. This year, because of the weather conditions I have to take down a plot of rapeseed. Thanks to Kverneland Qualidisc I will finish the whole work very quickly, with only one implement and two passes on the field. With the first one I will lower the crop, and with the second one I will align the field diagonally, so I can prepare the ground for sowing”, shares the farmer.
According to the farmer, the expenses of the maintenance of a machine are important, but they are not the most important thing when deciding whether to work with this implement.
“First, I have to see if the implement can do the job that I want it to do. And when the job is done properly, I estimate the expenses. On both parameters – both as a job that is done and as a fuel consumption, I am extremely pleased.
The specifications of the disc harrow do not need to be quoted as everyone can open the brochure and read them. I can truly say that what is recorded in it, the harrow can do it. The manufacturer has done his job and made the disc harrow work properly. The construction of the disc harrow, the positions of the discs and the independent suspension also has impact on the way it works”, “I always trust Kverneland” explained the farmer.
To fully answer all farmers needs, Qualidisc disc harrows are available in two versions – Qualidisc Pro and Qualidisc Farmer, with various configurations and working widths of 4, 5, 6 and 7 m.
The disc harrow that Boyan Burchin has chosen for his farm is a 6-meter, trailed, from the Qualidisc Pro series. Maintaining high quality tillage across the entire working width, the machine guarantees full-width tillage. A distinctive feature of Qualidisc is the patented Kverneland Actipack roller, with an outer diameter of 560 mm and independent skids and knives. Thanks to its 220 kg per meter, the roller allows good compaction of the soil and is the ideal tool to enhance the weeds regrowth after harvesting.
The technical specifications of the Kverneland Qualidisc allow the machine to be used both for shallow tillage and for deep cultivation together with pre-sowing preparation before plowing.
Alexander Tsenkov, a machine operator who works at Zora Agro’s farm, is also convinced of the efficiency and precision of the Kverneland disc harrow. According to him, only the Kverneland Qualidisc would handle taking down a rapeseed plot with 60 cm high.
“I’m sure in this, because I’ve seen only with Kverneland Qualidisc an individual suspension on each of the discs”, said Alexander Tsenkov.
In fact, еach disc is mounted individually and follows the ground contour perfectly. Тhe individual suspension of the Qualidisc disc harrow gives excellent performance in higher crops. Thanks to the conical notched discs, this machine is an irreplaceable assistant in the cultivation of intermediate crops and preparation of the field for subsequent sowing.
Boyan Burchin managed to cultivate his farm of 13,000 decares with only 4 machines. Here is the secret to a productive and profitable farm.
“Every tractor I buy for my farm is equipped with all the technologies that NIK offers – Trimble for precise machine guidance, ConnectedFarm for exchange of information between the office and all the machines and FarmTrack – fleet tracking system available in each of the machines. With these 4 machines I manage to prepare and perform the sowing and the harvest of the crops, also to take care of the plants and to manage the production to the warehouse”, explained the producer.
Boyan Burchin and NIK have worked together for more than 10 years.
“From the very beggining of NIK I met their representatives and started using the equipment they offer. I introduced the precise technologies in my farm 10 years ago”, assures Burchin.
The precise technologies are already here. Trust the innovations in agriculture for a modern and profitable farm.
